Orto Parisi Megamare is the Roman house's most aquatic and most extreme interpretation of the sea — a bold, salty, deeply marine fragrance that doesn't flirt with the ocean but throws itself fully into it. Where many aquatics gesture toward water, Megamare smells like being submerged in it. This is marine perfumery at its most committed and most impressive.
The opening is immediate and genuinely oceanic — a sharp, salty aquatic accord arrives with a mineralic intensity that is unlike any standard marine fragrance. There is real depth here: seaweed, ambergris and a cool, slightly animalic quality give Megamare a character that is simultaneously refreshing and slightly primitive. The heart sustains the marine quality with a developing warmth that prevents the composition from being cold or linear. The base settles into musks and ambergris, creating a skin-close, surprisingly intimate dry-down that carries the ocean character long into the day.
