Created by perfumer Alessandro Gualtieri in 2021 as a tribute to his grandfather's legacy as a shoemaker, Cuoium is Orto Parisi's most visceral and polarising creation — and that's saying something. Black pepper and mandarin open with a brief, deceptive brightness before a wall of ashy, smoky leather takes over entirely. Violet, patchouli and cedar build a dark, powdery heart before labdanum, incense, cade wood and vanilla settle into the most authentic leather dry-down in modern perfumery. One spray to the chest is enough. It will last for days on clothes.
