Peppery rose over resinous fir and cedar: the Bois Impérial after dark.
Created by Quentin Bisch and released in 2024, this is the Extrait de Parfum version of Essential Parfums' Bois Impérial. At 32% concentration, around twice the strength of the Eau de Parfum, it is darker, richer and more sensual. It opens with a bright, spicy burst of black pepper, timut pepper and Thai basil, then moves into rose absolute and Atlas cedar. The drydown settles into a warm, resinous base of fir balsam, labdanum and patchouli. It is made for evenings and colder weather.

How is the Extrait different from the Eau de Parfum? It is about twice the concentration and noticeably darker. Expect more pepper, rose and resin, and longer, heavier wear. If you like the Eau de Parfum but want more depth for evenings and winter, this is the one to try.
